I had a 40 minute bus ride this morning complete with smelly, loud homeless people and no iPod for salvation. So I was a tad crabby when I got in this morning. Luckily, it is a short holiday week (telling my coworker Michele about the time my brother, grandfather and I ended up at Kmart buying canned cranberry sauce one Thanksgiving cheered me up - more on that story later) and both my partners are gone today so I can listen to music a bit louder than usual in my Fortress of Solitude (henceforth known only as FoS).
On to the songs:
Dem Jeans - Chingy (hilarious)
Love You Til The End - Pogues
All of My Days - Alexi Murdoch (love, love, love this guy)
Fire Island A.K. - The Long Winters
And my personal favorite of this month:
Earthquakes and Sharks - Brandtson
"Earthquakes and sharks to start us off,
If Chupacabras ain't enough,
Black widows, spiders and killer bees,
There ain't no shade. There ain't no trees.
Black bears and heat, polluted air.
There's traffic jams beyond compare.
That's all I got to warn ya bout Mexico and California."
