Give me some good beer, conversation, friends, and music and there is little that will bother me. I try to treat others as I wish to be treated and when I don't, I like to think I learn from my mistakes. I believe most people are trustworthy until proven otherwise. I'm a conversational snob. I have little tolerance for stupidity or rudeness. Common courtesy is one of the best traits one can have. I believe there is conversation that is inappropriate for the dinner table. I love running into people I used to know, but am always happier if I look cute when it happens. I think there would be much less ruckus in the world if brunch were a daily offering.

A Bit Too Close To Home

I joke about living in the hood realizing that I live in the safest quadrant of the city. Lately there have been a number of assaults in Adams Morgan which is a short walk from my house but nothing in my neighborhood. I'm pretty smart about when and where I walk and generally am not out alone at night after a certain hour. Other than hearing gunshots in my alley and my apartment getting slightly robbed awhile back there hasn't been too much crime in my immediate area. Until last night.

About four blocks from my house (easily a 5 minute walk) a 32 year old man was stabbed to death just before midnight. I'm not one to be too terribly disturbed by this type of thing. I'm a safety girl. I take precautions (as mentioned above) but I may start taking cabs home from 9:30 the next couple concerts.
